We’ve all been there. You’ve been messaging someone back and forth, sharing stuff you have in common and A LOT of asking how each others days are going… then you notice a change. Your WhatsApp no longer shows the two grey ticks next to the last message you sent… They’ve been replaced by two bright blue ticks… She’s read the message… and not replied. PANIC!!!!!!! It’s happening… she left you on read?!
No, wait! Stop what you’re doing, no need to panic! There’s always multiple potential reasons for a situation. More often than not, it’s the worst possible scenario that’s no doubt running through your mind – that they’re no longer interested in you!
It’s easy to assume that, but it could be something else. Here are 4 reasons why she left you on read:

She’s being coy or playing “hard to get”
One of the oldest tricks in the book of dating: being coy or “playing hard to get”. Traditionally used as THE way to build up the attention you want from that certain someone. If the girl you’re talking to has taken their foot off the gas, they could be wanting to be (metaphorically) chased.
Everyone wants to feel wanted. Sometimes, the best way to get that is by putting the person you’re talking to in a position where they may have to work harder for your attention or response.

She’s testing you to see how keen you are
In a very similar way, she may have also left you on read purely as a way to judge what type of person you are. How someone reacts under a small change in circumstances (like a delayed message response or an ignored message) is a massive insight into how someone will behave in a relationship.
So, as an example, if the girl you’re messaging has left you on read and then you immediately jump to the infamous “double message” and immediately follow up with another message, it may be a sign that you are needy. On the other hand, if you don’t react to being left on read and let them get back to you in their own time, it could be a sign that you’re very relaxed. There’s obviously no one-size-fits-all answer to the type of person they want to be with. That’s the mystery of finding out more about the person you’re messaging!

She’s genuinely busy
Life is up and down for everyone. We all have our free days where time passes incredibly slowly. Then, there are busy days where you can barely take a toilet break.
As a result of this, if you happened to message her on a busy day, then she could’ve read your message with every intention of replying immediately. Then maybe she got rushed into a meeting or bumped into a friend.

She’s had a change of heart
Unfortunately the “worst” case scenario is still an option. Sometimes the other person just doesn’t feel right about a specific situation. It might be how she views you getting along or it may just be a timing issue. Regardless, it just doesn’t all fit in place for them at this moment. She could be leaving you on read to either let you down slowly before messaging you properly. That, or she just may not really know how to appropriately deal with the situation.
