Sliding into DMs refers to someone sending a direct message on social media, normally Instagram or Twitter. Most of the time the term is used when a random online user sends you an unexpected message.
Example Sentence: I’ve been Sliding into DMs for the past 2 years, but nobody ever replies. Maybe I should stop opening with the eggplant emoji.
